Agent cover letter

Agencies are always looking for new professional agents who can increase their revenues and offer exceptional client service. Understanding how to write an effective agent cover letter can show employers that you are up to the task and have the right skills to handle the job.

Cover letters are usually among the first few items that your potential employer reads from you. Your cover letter should immediately indicate the position you are applying for and then provide basic information that correctly highlights why you should be considered for the position.

You must not repeat all the information contained in your resume. Instead, you should only highlight some of the key items that are directly applicable to the position you are applying to. This article will be looking at the standard format of writing Insurance agents, Real Estate, and Travel Agent cover letters.

Standard Format of Writing an Effective Agent Cover Letter

You should begin your agent cover letter with your contact information. This should be in block style and should be on your paper’s left margin, towards the top. It should include:

Information About You

You should begin your agent cover letter with your contact information. This should be in block style and should be on your paper’s left margin, towards the top. It should include:

  • Your name,
  • Home address,
  • And your telephone number

Just like any other business letter, make sure to include the date of writing the letter.

Recipients Name, Title, And Address

If you know the name of your employer, make sure to address the letter to them. Don’t just use the typical “Dear Sir/Madam” for the recipient to see that you have put in some effort to know the company and the position you are applying for; make sure to include the recipient’s name. You can even contact the company to provide you with all the details you need to write an effective cover letter.

Choose the best and the most appropriate way to address the contact person. For instance:

  • Dear Mr. Paul
  • Dear Ms. Jane

If you fail to obtain the employer’s name, you can use the standard “Dear Prospective Employer.”

Opening Paragraph

In your opening paragraph, tell the employer how you learned about the position. You can, for instance, indicate that you learned about the position through:

  • A classified advertisement
  • The Internet
  • Personal referrals

An unsolicited mailing

Middle Paragraph

This paragraph summarizes your background and any critical skills that make you qualified for the position you are applying for.

Second Middle Paragraph

You can use this second paragraph to highlight your persuasive skills to properly showcase your skills to the employer. Some of the skills that you can include in your letter include:

  • Active listening
  • Persistence
  • Adaptability
  • Professionalism
  • Negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer service skills
  • Communication skills
  • Critical thinking
  • Decision making
  • Familiarity with the applicable laws and regulations
  • Etc.

Contact Information And Closing

At the end of your letter, talk about your availability for the position, where you can be contacted, and when you would like to contact the hiring manager for an appointment to discuss your application. If you have no contact person, you can simply indicate your anticipation for a response in this part of the letter. Thank the hiring manager for their time to consider your application.

Subject: Application for the position of Real Estate Agent

Dear Ms. Young,

I am thrilled to apply for the Realtor position with Brooke Real Estate Investment Group. As an agent with Zuri Properties limited, I increased our client base by 18% and 26% for two consecutive years, respectively. These accomplishments saw a 15% rise in property closings the first year and a similar 17% rise in the following year’s 4th quarter. By joining the Brooke Real Estate Investment group, I am positive that I can give you similar results.

According to the job advertisement, you are looking for a self-driven team player who is attentive to detail and people-oriented. My achievements below indicate why your position is a perfect fit for me:

Self-driven. I became the number one go-to person for a team of 15 colleagues by continually keeping up to date with the current marketing methods, seeking new leads, and closely following current market trends to keep up with competitors.

Team Player. Single-handedly volunteered to mentor and train a group of 10 interns and 8 acquaintances on the use of Salesforce, Trello, and Hootsuite.

Attentive to detail. I prepared legal documents for 12 investment properties for my clients.

Interpersonal skills. Built rapport and fostered good working relationships by actively reaching out to clients and entities through the available networking sites such as social media pages, trade shows, conferences, and open house visits.

I believe you will find my knowledge of property management and investment to be an asset to your company’s needs. I am eager to join your reputable and professional team as a Realtor. I am looking forward to scheduling an in-person interview with you to discuss further how to expand your presence in Arizona even further.

Best Regards,

Vanessa Stephens,

Real Estate Agent.
