When selling, purchasing, or registering a vehicle in Wyoming, you will need to have a Wyoming bill of sale. A Wyoming bill of sale acts as proof that the sale of a vehicle has been done legally. It contains details about the vehicle, the sale, and the seller and buyer, which is also used when the buyer registers and titles the vehicle in their name. A Wyoming bill of sale can also be used for legal situations as proof of who owned the vehicle and at what time. For example, if the seller should incur a fine before the vehicle is sold, the buyer can prove that they were not the one who owned the vehicle at that time, meaning they are not liable.
